OUR TEAM

Carlo Vijandre

Carlo’s life has been active and balanced from an early age.  Over the years he has tried his hand at various sports and activities – badminton, cycling, basketball, tennis and volleyball – always enjoying the active and social elements of these activities and noticing the positive contribution they made in his life.  Carlo has been lucky to have many positive role models to look up to throughout his life who always encourage him to be active and healthy.  With this solid foundation to build on, Carlo has become a successful young adult, establishing a career in the building science field, while maintaining an active lifestyle through regular visits to the gym, volleyball leagues, hiking and walking.  Along with physical activity, food has also been a focus in Carlo’s life starting with his Mom’s delicious home cooking.  The many cooking skills Carlo picked up from his Mom have come in handy helping him to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet.  Carlo has developed the Balance Program as a way to give back and share all the valuable lessons he learned in his youth that have helped him grown into a healthy young adult full of vitality.

Kelly Fisher

Growing up, Kelly was lucky to be part of a family that limited the number of hours spent in front of the TV in favour of spending time outdoors gardening, hiking or just playing catch in the yard.  Much time was also spent in the kitchen learning the family baking secrets.  These early years developed positive habits and values that Kelly has maintained, always enjoying trying out a new recipe or time spent outdoors, especially digging in the garden.  These are also activities Kelly enjoys sharing with others.  Over her years completing a degree in Geography at University of Victoria , Kelly spent many sunny days helping seniors in their gardens, as well as working with children to develop school yard gardens.  Kelly has just finished a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto and has moved back to Victoria to begin a career in urban planning.  While a new career is a big time commitment Kelly still finds time to bake some homemade bread and other goodies as well as garden in her own soil as well as others.
